So, you’ve successfully found and purchased the perfect flooring for your home using the tips outlined in our recent January blog post – now what?

In today’s blog post, we’ll review our most frequently asked questions surrounding the installation process. After all, we understand it isn’t every day our customers purchase new flooring and the process can be quite daunting. Our goal is to make the process of choosing your new flooring as easy to navigate as possible. Let’s dive in!

Scheduling Installation

At McSwain Carpets & Floors, we understand our customers are busy people with more than enough on their plate. For this reason, our Customer Support Team will manage every step of the installation of your new flooring so you don’t have to worry about a thing.

First, a member of our Customer Support Team will contact you to select an installation date. On the eve of the installation, a member of our team will contact you again to go over the entire installation process with you in detail. Lastly, on the day of the installation, the installer will contact you by 9:30 a.m. to let you know what time they are going to arrive at your home.

Preparing Your Space for Installation

Once you’ve scheduled your installation with our Customer Support Team, you’ll need to begin preparing the room or rooms for the installation. Here is a checklist to help you plan:

– Remove all breakables from the space

– Disconnect all electronics

– Clear the closet floors of any shoes, clothing, boxes, etc.

– Drain and remove waterbeds or aquariums

– Make arrangements for having all gas and water appliances disconnected and reconnected before the arrival of the installer

– Before they arrive, let the installer know about any special water lines or wires installed under the existing floor

– Provide access to adequate power, light, ventilation, and heat before, during, and after the installation

If you have a question or need clarification, don’t hesitate to reach out to our Customer Support Team.

What to Expect the Day of Installation

As mentioned above, you’ll receive a call from the installer before 9:30 a.m. letting you know what time they’ll be at your home. Upon arrival, the installer will go over a pre-installation checklist and review the details of the job with you. Next, the installer will take a look at the seam locations and any special work that may be required. The installation team will then move standard furniture from the area. Once the space is empty, the installers will complete the job according to all manufacturer and industry standards. Once the flooring is in place, the installers will clean-up any waste, vacuum, and place the furniture. Finally, the installer will conduct a post-installation inspection with you to ensure your complete and total satisfaction with your new flooring.

No two jobs are alike, if you have a question that wasn’t covered in today’s post, please contact a member of our Customer Support Team. No question is too silly, and our team is here to make sure you’re comfortable with the process from start to finish.
